Hi ladies!

There are a lot of ladies out there (like me!) that absolutely love Make Up and can easily apply their daily look or recreate the latest trends. But there are also a lot of ladies that don’t love Make Up and wouldn’t know where to even start to apply it. I have a lot of clients and friends that don’t wear a lot of Make Up and tell me they have no idea what colors to choose, what look would suit them or how to put it on.

The truth is a lot of women would love to know the basics, not because they want to suddenly be made up to the nines but it can be as simple as wanting to even out the skin tone or adding a little definition to the eyes whilst still maintaining a natural look.

If this is you, I have created this easy step by step just for you!

The following tips are a guide to create a very simple & natural look. As you get more confident you can start playing around with colors and looks.

First of all, if you aren’t familiar with how to apply foundation or what color would suit you, I highly recommend visiting a cosmetics counter to ask one of the professionals to help you color match. You could also go into any department store and try out their testers. I recommend swiping a tiny bit on your cheek, blend it in and wait a few moments. If the color seems to melt into your skin so it looks like it is a part of it, then you have the right color.

• Apply your base: Use a make up brush (easy to obtain anywhere that sells cosmetics) to apply your foundation using soft circular strokes to blend & ensuring you remember all the nooks & crannies such as around the nose & over your eyelids.
• Apply a finishing powder (a powder that is a match to your foundation) over the top to help your make up stay in place and give you a smooth, even finish.
• Apply a natural colored eye shadow over the whole eyelid
• Comb your brows into place and then apply several coats of mascara to the upper & lower eyelashes
• Use a natural colored lip liner to line around the lips and color in the whole lip & then follow with a clear gloss.

Bonus Tips:

• Define your cheeks: Use a fairly natural shade of blush (I like brown tones) & sweep a blush brush from the apple of your cheek towards your upper ear in a sweeping motion
• Want a bit more drama? Use a bold color for the lips and add a little eyeliner to the inner eyelid.
